Perentie are not only the largest lizard in Australia, growing up to 2.4m in length, they also inhabit some of the harshest, most arid regions in the burning heart of the country. Owing to their grand size and endurance, we feel they are deserving of the title Lizard King. Despite the hours and days of searching on foot – with no success – this individual decided to make an appearance at breakfast one morning as we were packing up camp, typical goanna!
