Northern Rosella

Northern rosellas are the only rosella in the Territory, where they are found in open forests near to sources of water. Unlike some of their more southerly cousins, this species is rarely seen around built up areas and so often goes under the radar of visitors and locals alike. This beautiful individual is surveying a waterhole, deciding if its safe to go down for a reprieve from the blistering Top End heat.
