These Top End fairywrens are truly unique, not only in their stunning purple colouration, but in that alone of all fairywrens, male and female birds sing together in a wonderful duet. In all other species it is just the male bird that sings.  These birds can be found at the base of the east, and western Top End, and into the Kimberley and Gulf country.
