Prickly Knob-Tailed Gecko

Nephrurus asper
 
This strikingly beautiful gecko is found in parts of northern Queensland, though they are generally a drab brown-grey. Populations that inhabit the further northern reaches, particularly in heathland environs seem to exhibit this beautiful banded pattern more often.
