Hooded Parrot

This stunning parrot is found only in the Top End of the Northern Territory. It is one of two Australian parrot species known for their habit of nesting in small holes within termite mounds. This bird is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, and is certainly a contender for the Territory's most colourful creature.
