Darwin Stick Insect

These are one of Australia's largest and most spectacular insects. The female is the larger of the two, at around 25cm length. These insects are well-known to Darwin gardeners, appearing as they often do during wet season pruning. It's always a pleasure to find such exotic creatures so close to home.
