The regular presence of these birds is a given for many living in northern Australia, bush stone curlews are adept at surviving and even thriving in the suburbs of many towns and cities. Whether because of their hauntingly familiar calls, or their charmingly silly antics, curlews are one of Australia's favourite birds.
