Australian Tarpon

Also known as the Oxeye Herring, these active predators are well known amongst the fisherfolk of northern Australia. This fish was being pursued by a large freshwater crocodile and has performed a leap of faith - a jump into the unknown - as a last resort to escape the croc. Sadly for the fish, the croc captured it anyhow as it landed in the shallows and was unable to swim away.
