Freshwater eel-tailed catfish
A widespread, Australia endemic species. These catfish seem to be highly social - moving in groups whilst they forage along the bottom and edges of deep creeks and rivers.
Spotted scat inhabit coastal freshwater, in-shore and estuarine habitats of parts of the Pacific, including northern Australia. The species posesses venomous spines along their dorsal fin.
A closer perspective.
If I think of tropical frewshwater ecosystems, Archerfish are one of the first things that come to mind. I've always wanted to take a photograph of their amazing 'archery', I'm not quite there yet but this perspective reveals a little of their world.
This image is a little more artistic than the last, I spent quite somet time diving down in attempts to frame a shoal of these Archerfish.
I recently took the plunge into underwater photography (get it?), this is one of my first fish images, a Freshwater longtom. What do you think?
