This pair of mating Merten's monitors were completely oblivious to my presence in the water with them .

A beautiful and unsually brighly coloured specimen of this northern species.
A big old Olive python I found with Cara around this time last year - by far the largest snake I've encountered in the NT so far.

A member of Australia's endemic genera, Nephrurus, this species inhabits sand dunes in central Australia.
