Frill-neck lizard

A 'Frilly' as they are known in Australia. These iconic creatures have sadly declined dramatically in many areas following the invasion of Cane toads. This image of a large male was taken one evening inland of Mareeba, north Queensland. I now live in Darwin where I occassionally see Frill-necks in my neighbourhood but sadly I rarely see them out in the bush in the Top End. Here's hoping they bounce back up here like they have in certain areas of north Queensland!
